I think in those cases the solution is not to remove the technology but rather have strong technical leadership that knows to cut these endless discussions short and balance purity and sanity

I often see these kind of arguments when someone argues that some tool is overestimated or not suitable for many cases, like : "Well, the problem is not the tool, but the people in the project…".

I can tell you that if you have a strong technical leadership, Typescript won't be necessary.
